Done the same thing a while back, though I am nearly sure I didn't tighten the 2 bolts.

The spindle is fine, just stripped about 50% of the crank arm splines. My cranks stayed on though with the plastic tensioner is still in place.

Just had a look a better look and the tab thing is broken and found part of the tensioner inside. Bolts have to have come loose at some stage or I didn’t quite have them torqued enough and then those two bits have let go.

Yeah sounds about right... and they have been coming off the spindle gradually to break the tensioner.

Seems like they were semi tight, but not enough, allowing them to move off the spindle over time, then fail.

In my case, completely loose apart from the tensioner tight, did a gap jump and the NDS just slipped.

There's not a lot of bite on the splines and seeing as yours were tight(ish) you may be able to save them.

Got out for a pedal this morning at Lysterfield. Timed it perfectly with the rain. Got back to the car as the thunder started. Packed up and headed off just as the heavens opened. Needed to find a place to pull over and wait out the rain it was that heavy. Winning.

Had a couple of good outings on the Stumpy the last two weekends.

Last weekend I threw the XC wheels on and managed a 2nd in the inaugural Clover Hill Classic XC race at the Clover Hill vineyard and this weekend gone I snagged a 3rd in the old man's class at the Tas Gravity Enduro at George Town.

Back on the skinny tyres this coming weekend doing the Railton Express 40km XC race.

I generally stick to urban or very soft single track with it these days as it sometimes does my back in.

But it sure is direct, immediate and plenty of fun.
