What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

Did you race Natural Selection? That’s a gnarly fucking trail to race blind. There was about half dozen walking wounded at the bottom being tended by the medics after I finished my run. Loved every second of it.
Only the Elite riders raced Natural Selection and I am kind of glad we didn't as it's above my pay grade and when I do get around to hitting it I don't want the pressure of racing it. One of the marshals at the bottom said that most of the Elite riders were shitting themselves as you just can't stop on several parts of that trail.

Sounds like you made a wise choice.

We all did have the option to do the elite stage but I will check it out sometime as I want to climb to the summit while I'm up there and I won't have the pressure of riding everything on the way down.

Obstacle or feature?
Quite warm out now.

Bought a new fork ,
Was cheap - seems okay , it’s a basic RockShox but better than my current which has done over 5,500 kms of hell with a fat man !
fitted it .
Gave me a headache coz I’m old and slow , rode round the back yard , chased the dog …or did the dog chase me ..it’s a conundrum.
windy as all get out here - might do some more testing later on my new route - as it seems like many ‘ burners I haven’t been riding much

Snapped a spoke riding at a certain spot in Red Hill. Decided to roll the dice and keep doing laps (because I was having too much fun) and managed 4 laps of some pretty gnarly trails before getting too cocky and landing a drop into a nest of large roots - promptly snapping another spoke. Hit one more drop and small gap on the ride out for shits and giggles.

Guess I’ll switch to mullet while I rebuilt my 29 rear.

Rode the Carbonda last night after finally installing my favourite brakes, was a short ride as I was/am battling some shifting issues (bitsa drive train; sunshine cassette, deore derailleur, sunrace shifter), I think it mostly stems from chain being too short.

Going to rectify that tonight and see how it goes.
