What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

Someone told me there is nothing more satisfying than riding on your own wheelset that you built up. Ill let you know about that in 6 or more months time. Should know by then if I was successful or things imploded.

Rode some more trails that look like they don't get ridden much at all...
it was hot, but fun
34 today

Read that as "eating" for some reason... :)
Free/saves a lot of money, somewhat intimidating and requires concerted effort, may result in internal injuries..
I've been doing my own forks for a while, still don't quite have the guts to do wheels but at least if I screw it up completely I can pay someone to fix it I guess. Would've been a nice Alfred activity if I'd gotten my arse into gear...

Today we rode some nice mountain bike trails at Tathra… my first real ride with elevation since an operation and a kidney stone (double whammy) in mid January. Only did 9km, just easing back into it… but it was ace. Hopefully a few more rides to come.

Have you tried them with different pads? The Tektro organic pads are terrible. The sintered pads are very good. Uberbike racematrix are better again.

Oh yeah this too ⬆️

Even with "BroBike" pads from NZ the Tektros were much improved. Even more so with the uber pads

Went for a ride up Pipeline today, yoga continues to improve my cornering, weights improving my back and arm strength. Neither felt tired which is a first! My thighs still give up the ghost both climbing and descending though so more climbing coming up!

The Hallion and his mate have decided MTBs are too much hard work and have both bought dirt bikes so my life is now borrowing or hiring trailers and ferrying them to where they can ride without breaking the law or pissing too many people off. We went to my in-laws property today so I took the hardtail along and rode the boundary fences whilst they cut up the paddocks.
As it's so dry at the moment all of the various creeks that run in and out of the property were crossable (just) and as there are a heap of gates go through I decided to climb over most of them and turned it into a cyclo cross style ride.
It was my first off road ride in about 18 months and my general fitness is pretty low but I made it just and are feeling better for it but knackered.
