What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

The Hallion and his mate have decided MTBs are too much hard work and have both bought dirt bikes so my life is now borrowing or hiring trailers and ferrying them to where they can ride without breaking the law or pissing too many people off. We went to my in-laws property today so I took the hardtail along and rode the boundary fences whilst they cut up the paddocks.
As it's so dry at the moment all of the various creeks that run in and out of the property were crossable (just) and as there are a heap of gates go through I decided to climb over most of them and turned it into a cyclo cross style ride.
It was my first off road ride in about 18 months and my general fitness is pretty low but I made it just and are feeling better for it but knackered.

I’ve got an 8x5 dual axle trailer I’m looking to move on if you want to get away from borrowing/hiring.

Never busted a hanger before. Bent heaps but no snappy snappy.

Edit: No sad faces needed! I had a blast before I broke it, was out in the bush and it’s mtb’ing. You brake shit. That’s the way it goes. As long as you have fun doing it then all is good! 😁

Apparently they are somewhat known for doing it with the standard hanger if the derailleur cops a whack. They sell different versions of the hanger (different metals basically) on their website.
Yep I’ve bent a couple already and snapped two with too many Ugga duggas on the alignment tool. Seems the hangers are the only weak point on these bikes. I’ll take that any day of the week.

Will need to order some more. I saw they had fancy metallurgic ones but damn they are spendy. On top of stupid shipping prices as well.

Dropped the missus' car to be detailed on the way to work. A great excuse for a ride, so packed the roady in her car.
2.5k into the trip, cop a flat on the rear. No probs, chuck in the spare, pump it up, feels good, put the wheel in the frame.
Could be a bit firmer, so chuck the pump on and give it some more, then pfffthhthththtpt. Flat again. No amount of pumping will put any air in it.

A lovely walk to the local shopping centre where my work wife came and picked me up. Lets hope the LBS is open so I can get a new tube.
Whats the deal with going tubeless on a roady? Anyone done it?

Nice ride this morning on the old school trails at Tathra, near the watertank. I was loving it but we’d seen a black snake yesterday so Sue was on high alert, and I don’t reckon it sees a ton of riders, so some sections were overgrown and grassy… so that didn’t help the angst. Still good fun though.

Then we too found a beach and had a swim.

That sound familiar.
i've been TL with my Cannondale supersix evo for 4 years now. It's a struggle to listen to endless vitriol from other roadies/ my mate who owns a roadie focussed shop and even riders at Mt Lofty (coffee stop around here).
The resistance is real from roadies.
I ride my cannondale on gravels and shit roads, i commute on it sometimes. credit card touring too.
Currently 32mm Vittoria next pro something or other with about 50 ml of goo on carbon 24mm internal standard Cannondale hollowgram wheels. no tape as sealed rim beds too.
Pretty faultless as far as TL goes....My Knolly Cache however , not so.
