What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

I've got a 30mm stem and the bars angled upward slightly but still need to be a little more upright as my neck gets sore after a while from the riding position. I also never use the drops as I feel too crunched over. I don't know what any of this says about my fit for the bike.

Raced the Tas Gravity Enduro at Maydena yesterday and ended up with the second spot on the podium.
Saturday practice was a fairly wet up the top of the hill but was reasonable from midline down. Race day was prime and apart from Marriotts being a bit greasy, the rest of the trails were mint!

That's why I am reluctant to drive all the way down there to have a ride. A number of people have told me they have driven from up north on a cloudless sky day to get just about to Maydena and then start seeing dark forboding clouds suddenly appear.

I don't do road bikes, but any of these the flavour you want...Contemplating replacements for the roadie. Love the Defy though, ticks all the boxes for me as a pure roadie - clean design and gimmick free. At least it did before the 24 model year when they went more aggressive geo and adopted the fucking cables through the headset crap... grrr. 22 and 23 models loong gone in the shops - saw one in brisbane about a year ago and was tempted.
But - have a work trip to Singapore in May. And guess what the Giant dealer there has on sale in my size
Not keen on electric gears, so will probably flip the group and put 105 mechanical 12 speed on it. And maybe some cash back in the bike fund.

I already swapped the beer for the bottle of wine as at least my wife will drink it. I'd take chocolate if they offered it and I do drink, just not that much.
I've had a pretty good run at Maydena with only one other slightly wet ride there in the past.

Grab one of these as a tester, then if it works you could look for a better brand if you didn't trust the ali stem... though I would be ok with it as its on a gravel bike. Rub it down and rattle can it to your colour, then lacquer it.

If the frame is ok I can get a new fork from Giant, and I’ll do that - I love this thing and we’ve spent many years and kms together. I’ll be keeping it for sure.But I’ll get the new one as well - it’s going to be the last roadie I’ll probably ever buy. Last of the proper cable routing and nice clean design. All the new stuff from all brands leaves me cold with their stupid cables through headset crap and frame design gimmicks… May not ride it much (at least not while I’m in Tasmania), but it’s a very high end slick thing and life is short.

I have a 50mm Norco stem from my daughter's bike (she got the Canyon G5 because it looks cool!).
I'm still playing with setup since I removed the dropper post - I had that just perfect but of course I forgot to measure everything so back to the drawing board! I'm finding a bit too much pressure on the hands again even with the saddle lowered.
