What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

Bloody forums fault again, I get way too productive when it's down.
Started on another crank makeover, this time my banged up old SLX.

And got out for a proper single trail ride on the hardtail. First pb's around Lysterfield for a very long time :)

Do you mind repeating how you did that to your cranks?

I have a set of old cranks I'd like to try it out on first!

Gathered a crew together to ride the Lake Spicer Track on Saturday.

I didn't pick the best weather, as although it was a perfect autumn's day up on the Northwest Coast is there was a lot of low cloud and some misty rain blowing across the West Coast. Still, we did get glimpse of the views at times and the rough as guts track kept our eyes focused on the trail in front, at least while we were moving anyway.
The Tyndalls reserve is a pretty cool area, strewn with boulders and surrounded with rocky ridges and cliffs.

Despite having a summer and autumn with well below average rainfall it was still pretty wet. I'd hate to see it in a wet year!

Quite a bit of pushing too!

It is the challenges though, that do make a memorable ride. Definitely will be a few more West Coast missions to come.

We often get sad looking at the crusty garden and watching the weather part like Moses around Hobart and all the rain passing south and north of us…
All of Tasmania are getting sad looking up at the sky and occasionally seeing dark clouds that look like it's going to rain then it doesn't or worse rains a wee bit then stops. What is it now 3 months or more without decent rain.

Did you take the ebike?

Did you take the ebike?
Na, just the Stumpy. With it as wet as it was, I'm glad I didn't take the Levo SL. There were quite a few BB high water holes that we had to ride through.
A friend was thinking about coming with us with and Ebike and she pulled out last minute because she was concerned about the elevation and her fitness, but she would have been fine in regard to that, it would have been the technical rocky steep bits and all the water that would have been the issue for her.

Had the MAIB (Tasmania's personal injury insurance body for road accidents) assessor come round to also take a statement. Seems they want to know who this bloke is too so they can reclaim their costs.

He had some unflattering assessments of the Police's interest in doing work beyond handing out speeding fines which was sad to hear. But sounding like they will have some access to rego data to find the guy, and may end up being more effective than the Police!!

Either way I had to put a claim in once the MRI was ordered as costs stopped being negligible and the hospital even sent me a bill for the emergency room visit because it was road accident related visit!

Sigh, it is sad state when you can't rely on the Police to do their jobs but can rely on an insurance company trying to plug their losses.
Go Insurance isn't something you say very much either.
