What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

When are they bringing the Australian Masters back to NW Tassie. I think they where the only ones in Australia who held Enduro races solely for old people.

Our club did try to run a Tas Masters Games XC and Gravity Enduro race a couple of years ago and we had to can it due to lack of numbers. Partly to the fact that you first need to pay to register for the Masters Games, $45 plus and admin fee of $7.90 on top of the clubs race entry of around $50 that made it a bit pricey to begin with. Then you are only pulling from the 30+ age group and if you go off the Tas Gravity numbers as an absolute best case scenario you would only get 27 male riders and 3 women (not including Ebikes).
So running a 4 to 6 stage enduro with only around 30 riders is barely viable and I think we only had 15 entries, so we canned it. :confused:

It's not exactly a phenomenonal amount of entries for the old farts world champs in Cairns either...
Mostly Aussies, a few kiwis, and some other randos.

That's not too bad I suppose, but that's less than a Tas Gravity round. The under 19s make up over half the field!

Carl Peel will be hard to beat in the 50 to 54 age group. I'd have no hope against him.
 
Between work and the bloody rain, haven't been on the bike for ages. Decided to take advantage of a break in the rain to do a little ride around La Perouse, Frenchman's Bay and Yarra Bay. Wind blowing a gale but at least the rain was very light.

For some reason (I'm a sucker) I took advantage of a 50% sale on the Canyon shop a couple of weeks ago so scored some mtb bib shorts (they have a d30 back protector built in) and a rain jacket. Wore both on this ride, the bibs were surprisingly comfy, between the padding and the new ergon saddle, comfort level was awesome. The jacket is very good though did get a tad warm when the wind stopped howling. The bibs look completely dorky however so I will always wear shorts over the top 🤣

I installed the new NX cassette, GX chain and chainset on my son's bike. Chain successfully broken and connected with exactly the same number of links as the OG one.

Also installed Magic Mary on the front surprisingly easy...

But I just can't adjust the gears properly. Could be a stretched cable but it's late and sometimes I just can't be fucked. I'll take it to the LBS tomorrow.

I find it hard to believe anyone who is a regular member here needs a LBS.

Rear shocks, 100%, they need some super specific shite. Fork dampers, completely understand, also needing a little bit of magic. Maybe building wheels for some... ok. Gears and shit shifting, we have the BEST heads here ever to sort that shit out.

The knowledge around here with the 20 regular dickheads posters would fix and diagnose that shit quicker than 99% of local bike shops, in 30 minutes rather than a 4 day experience, just listen and do it, the long timers here actually know some great stuff you wont find anywhere on the internet.

That meme is bang on. Fuck I hate useless shop staff trying to help me. It is one of the reasons I prefer to shop online. But it is also fun to give them a bum steer or really bullshit "information".
