What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

Decided on a ramble along the local bike paths today. Was a lovely day out but I was cramping like crazy. Must have drunk 6 bottles of water trying to keep it under control.

Doing 60km on the Assegai may have been the wrong option though. Probably need to rethink the front tyre for bike paths and light trails 🤣

I found the 2.6 DHR2 to be better on the long path rides. (A couple of 80ish and one 110km ride) 🤪.

Finally got out on the horse yesterday, lovely weather, Mill Creek still closed so went out to Wylde.

Got there to a bunch of ambos and fire truck, some poor bugger must've got hurt, didn't hear any of the details so I hope it wasn't too bad.

Anyway, finally got to shred a few trails, I had not ridden Smiles for Miles for a couple of years as I thought I remembered it was shit. Well as the Donald would say WRONG! There was some pretty cool fun gnarly jumps and stuff. A big drop that I want to hit at some point and a big gap that I want to try. Anyway it was a bit wet but had a lot of fun.

Looks like a lovely day (not for the other rider though - hope they're ok!)

PS. Does resting a bike against the frame trigger anyone else?

This has occurred to me… I’ll go in and scope them out, with a “do you have the proper jig/facing tool” question. I’d rather pay and have it done right.

This mount would be largely ok with the calliper mounted directly as it was from factory, but I’ll be using an adapter to run a larger rotor so it needs to be flat.

Will ask they check the BB bore for size and roundness too. My old Defy had a bonded in aluminium shell, but this is a more modern design with BB bore part of the frame. The bearing in the DUB BB ran a little rough feeling but felt fine once removed so have a suspicion the bore might be tight.
Seems a bit fussy to me, yeah not ideal, excess paint, I would just use a rasp for the paint and check it with a steel ruler.

Nah, I’m not going near it with a hand tool. Maybe maybe I’d have a go at cutting away the paint ridges with a razor blade, but no hand files!!!

Got some sneaky dj laps...this one owned me. I think my success rate was about 40%. I don't get to ride jumps with such a steep take off very often. I was fighting the lift, failing to pull up the bars enough, fearing a buck, not getting my shoulders back enough, and all round riding like a goon. Meed to be at this more often and get the mechanics dialled.

Yeah jumps are regular practice, practice and more practice in a graduated way ie start small.
i am building one at the moment where its only small but in time will slowly jack it up but not tell anyone.

Judging by the 2 teenagers I saw send it...yes, and then more up again. I'd have been happy to consistently get the bottom of my tyres where the too of my tyres is.

Looks fun, are these local? Obviously don't post the location here for all of the great unwashed to see but if you could slip me some breadcrumbs that would be appreciated.
