What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

No I got it, though maybe I'm tangentially challenged and I thought we were Canberra bashing! My point being that even as an incidental objective, in my experience, there is no food in Canberra worth travelling for, beyond refueling purposes.
Apparently the nomadic life of a moderately immature snow chasing mountain biker isn't for everyone.

No, but only because I've been to neither. I note them both and will have to try them.

I took these photos on our ride today but you can see we are not in NSW. I have followed the crying in the rain and the banter about Canberra. It's tough, I know. So come on down to Tassie for some sun. We have had a pretty dry winter. Only one Saturday group ride cancelled due to rain. Rode 23 kms and 750 meters climbing with the group yesterday and 25 and 850 meters with Yvonne today. Some cold starts on Saturday to be sure. I live on top of a hill and it's a1 km ride down dropping 120 meters. 2c on Saturday morning means dragging the brakes to keep the feeling in my fingers. Yesterday and today? 18c.

Thanks, I forgot to mention that we stopped at the Fern Tree tavern for lunch at the half way point. Haven't seen so many out on the mountain since the Autumn.
 
Finally feel like I’ve done something exciting enough to post (for me at least). Updated trusty steel Kona from 9 to 11 speeds so should be able to go both up AND down things. Had the derailleur for a while but needed a way to mount the ispec shifter to the bars without spending more than the bike was worth. Got a good deal on one of those wolf tooth ones from Amazon, got a crazy cage for the derailleur too to allow for even more gears if the need arises. Looks silly now it’s on there, will probably hit many rocks and sticks but it’s been a fun process

Well not quite as crazy as that but this is what I'm working towards doing....

I tried to do this early this year but I got a couple of flats and ran out of water so called it a day at 80km.

Ben ended up beating me to it but I'm still keen for the challenge.
