What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

today I sold my 2nd last baby, allways gonna keep the dj bike, first bike I brought with my own money and the ironhorse on the wall that I found in a skip when I was little and I freaked out but today as stated I sold the last of the big bikes :'( i'm just gonna go hug her and cry my eyes out till she's pick up and I have a wad of cash

Sore arse, back and shoulder. Balked momentarily after a brain fart and went OTB over a 7ft roll-in. Cracked a MET helmet clean in two. Bike okay and I'm just sore. Glad to walk away to be honest....

"Bike okay"... And that's all that matters.

Never seen a helmet split clean in two. Did you go and get checked out for concussion? Or do men with beards not bother with such trivialities?

The missus didn't like the gold detail in the Turbine cranks I had lined up for her bike upgrade, so I swapped them for the XT ones on my Trance. For a bit of fuckwittery, I didn't have the correct spacers on her BB so the XT crank didn't come out far enough on the non-drive side. OK, I says, easy fix. So I pulled the drive crank out, it got stuck a little bit. I yanked it, i came free quickly and I slapped myself in the balls with the drive XT crank + 2 chainrings.

First reaction from the missus "Is that you or are the dogs next door barking?"

After I recovered, bit her bike up to the point of needing to tune the derailleurs and swap out the brake hoses. Oh, and putting brake rotors on her wheels. I should probably do that. Might leave one off, teach her to laugh at my misfortune.

Crashed it.

ME TOO!!! Twinsies

Me three. Feeling pretty sore with a few stitches in the elbow. Apparently i was pretty lucky to get away without surgery as the doctor was surprised to see my olecranon bursa through the hole on my arm. Sure not looking forward to the local wearing off! Fuck i need to learn to stop being such a spastic and keep the thing on it's wheels!

Helmet did it's job. Chunk completely missing from the rear and a split fracture all the way to the brow part of the front. Pretty impressive stuff. Didn't bother with hospital. Went to the Cascade Hotel for a pint instead.

i'd be gutted too. sorry to hear you're off the bikes. that said, i race with a natural spinal fusion of L5/S1 and five bone spurs in my neck from C3 to C5. bone spur in my right foot, smashed left knee had some nasty abdominal surgery too, twice. the physical stuff makes me slow but it also gave me a career because i went to uni to find out how to work around it all :) life has ways of making us take different career paths.

cracked five ribs, partially tore my AC twice and dislocated a rib off my spine, my collarbone off my sternum, separated a shoulder socket and i think my concussion count is up to five? any more i may be doing a Fatty Vaughtin. or am i already? i'd never know if i was making sense at all in that case. never mind whole-thigh bruising and torn biceps tendons too in separate stacks. raced last week and will be this weekend with two bruised and skinned knees from a rookie mistake at a training session with the OH plus the aforementioned biceps tendon tear... don't get me started on the small stuff like a dislocated hyoid..i gotta learn to stop stacking.

i'd be saying to my OH "so does this mean i miss out for the next few days?"

ouch, dude.

I detailed and polished my road bike, then coated with a hard coat gloss enhancing nano coating, then waxed with a limited edition nano wax.

Rode it as a SS on my regular hilly loop. Survived to tell the story, but not convinced I'm ready to jump in the deep end just yet.

Pretty sure Tate has some SS gear he could sell you at a reasonable price. If you don't like it, he'll probably want to buy it back in 3 weeks time anyway, just steer clear of his hubs, I'm no expert, but pretty sure even SS hubs need bearings.

New Grips – ODI Rouge, new saddle – Selle Italia Turbomatic and installed my new Thomson Dropper. I will post some more info on the post once I have a few more rides under my belt, but so far it has lived up to its reputation.

Did you lengthen the line on the Thompson or shorten the bike?

Sunday, bloody Sunday...

Put a brand new BB in the GT. Glared at the brake lines really hard hoping to shame them into shortening themselves, no joy, oh well...

Stripped the hardtail down to bare frame ready for rebuild, had issues removing the BB cup on the drive side, bashed the holy hell out of it with a lump of 2x4. Cleaned it up, serviced head set, fitted BB, cranks, derailleurs, new fork and disk brakes. Started to desticker it, gave up because it was a slut of a job. Turfed the old kids' seat over the back fence, started looking at decent ones online.
