What did you do TO / WITH / FOR your bike today!

New RF stealth bars 785mm wide 15mm rise and RF grips - although technically that was yesterday.

Its off to get a service and a wheel tune today

Took possession of my new Renthal Fatty for it. Thanks for the heads-up Moorey.
:thumb:

Fitted new M785 brakes to the second trail bike, the hoop flows to the AM bike, and then the old hoops from the AM bike with semi slicks to the first trail/commuting bike.

Fitted mates loaner forks to trail bit 1, to see if a bit more travel will help me find the love for it that I can't fully seem to find for it. Helping...but not quite 'coming up moorey' yet. Revelations that are due soon might cure what ails me.:drama:

Thanks for the pedal feedback guys.
It's probably silly but I prefer a pedal that has the axle going all the way to the end ...style of DMR's compared to Wellgo MG1's for example. And I also like a design that seems like it's easy to clean.

So I'm going to the LBS tomorrow so will see if they can get their hands on V12 Mags and what price.

At least it sounds like the Husband isn't going to complain about me buying bike parts this time :) he said I can get pedals if I think it's worthwhile....I laughed at the fact that he was asking me if I thought buying bike stuff was worthwhile!

Careful now... my GF went to the LBS to get some new platform pedals and walked out with a new 29er. With some new platform pedals on it.

Ha ha love it!

I only got the new bike earlier this year, on strict condition that I wasn't allowed to change stuff on it. So what did I do? Straight up swapped all the bits I wanted off the old bike (bar, stem, grips, seat, wheels and pedals)...hey it's not like I brought anything! Mind you he was smart, he said I couldn't buy new bits or swap my old bits for new bits from other people doh.
Well so far I've only brought a bottle cage and drink bottle really,,,,those aren't bike bits :D
I do love my bike but I would also love to unnecessarily change stuff, like better lighter fork, go 1x9 or 1x10, maybe try a different rise / height / width handlebar.
I'm pretty much banned from changing stuff on my bike and banned from changing furniture around the house....maybe if I leave the furniture in one spot long enough he'll let me start changing stuff on the bike again :) ...if that doesn't work I'll change the furniture around enough to annoy him so that he agrees to let me change stuff on the bike instead :)

1.5 hours drive to the outer side of Sydney at 11pm

cheapest bike I've bought......

i bought new, grippier shoes so i can stay on the pedals of the Retro race bike...must have worked because i actually made the final last night, first time for a while :)

at the moment we're building up a new 20" race bike for the OH, frame should land at the end of the month and it'll be interesting to see how the custom ano turned out. apart from that it's been a lot of building up and selling off his superseded bikes and my spares - we expect this build to come in at about $3000.

and here i am humming and ha-ing about spending that much on another Cortina for me...

Rode it....
2.5hrs followed by a 5x hill repeats; managed top 5 on Strava on the climb too so pretty stoked (I'm not a climber) :first:

Got it back from the bike shop. All tuned up.

They can't get DMR V12 Mags in :pout: Still not keen on Wellgos though, so I'm thinking maybe I'll see if they can get Shimano Saints instead, before I resort to online shopping.

Sounds like online is your last option, its my first.
All that you want at the lowest prices, you just have to be prepared to wait 2 weeks before you get it : (

Good luck. The last delivery Shimano got wasn't even enough to fill the standing backorders. There's more coming apparently, but you'll have to be prepared to wait a little while. Nice pedals though, so long as you don't mind a wide stance.

Took it for a ride at Lysty - a stick flicked up and snapped my tubeless valve clean in half.....honestly what are the chances???

Interesting.....mate was over form Ireland recently and as a loaner had a Commencal (unsure of model). I remarked that it was curious to see Schrader valves on a high-end bike, his response being that there was a growing school of thought amongst manufacturers given their strength, and resistance to damage from trailside obstacles. bah I said, what are the chances of that........?!

As to what I did with my bike this weekend....made sure it was good-to-go on Friday night in readiness for Saturday's aborted ride (time management) and today's aborted ride (smoke).... :-(
