Our three year old twins riding balance bikes. Once they got to used to them I also got them some 12" BMX styled bikes with training wheels for a couple of months. Once they got used to the idea of pedaling I removed the training wheels and now they are set. They are still 3 and pedal around easily if it's not too steep.
I'm really disappointed with the availability of small light bikes. Spoke to the LBS about "Too heavy. Why no carbon or plastic" and they go on about durability and handing it down to smaller kinds. I'd be happy to pay significant $$ for a super light bike for them each. Surely it could be sold for 40% of purchase price in a couple of years to another user.
Kids love the segment of Cam McCall jumping into the pool They always alk about Cam and how he rides and how they are want to be like him etc hahaha.
