What does your day look like?

Took a speed boat tour of Wilson's Prom.

...if slayer rewrote raining blood as raining shit and kicking me in the dick. That would be today.

I shall provide some context...

Friday afternoon I was asked (by the person who signs off on my time sheets) if I could do one of my colleagues a favour. That person has been doing so many hours lately that they need Saturday night off, so would I mind swapping my really cruisy shift (mostly crowd control at a live show with about 700 old people attending) with one of my favourite colleagues at my favourite venue for supervising the food and beverage team at a live show where I will be short staffed, have a lot of heavy furniture to move, reports to write, cash to count, rsa responsibility, whs issues to manage (2 staff with existing injuries), support a high profile event in our venue next door, and surprise also supervise service a much smaller comedy event...sure why the fuck not? They're going to pay someone to do it, why not me? So I spend the next 13 hours getting kicked in the dick.

1 day off in the last 3 weeks, this week was the short one at 50 hours, the last 10 has been beyond flat out, and I'm the one bailing someone out because they have been so busy? Good news for me! The 2 guys I work with that have been off for that 10 weeks are both back come Monday, I have Sunday and Monday off, and for the next couple of weeks at least I'll be taking it a bit easier. There is some riding on the horizon.

I'm feeling an affinity.

The things we do for a bit of coin... have you considered work in traffic control? Those stop/go sign folk make decent coin for what is a brain dead job with 2 days of training. There seems to be more and more young ladies doing it so maybe the pre requisites have changed.

Early mornings? Eeeeeeew.

I think you need to hold a driver's license, or at least used to. One of my coworkers used to hold said ticket but was unable to renew it as he lost his license (a stroke lead to impaired vison).

Did what has become my weekly routine lately coming back over the mountain. Caught up to a late 70s beetle in amazing condition. I reckon the collective width of the rain grooves in my tyres were wider than the rubber it had on the road. That swing arm suspension was amazing to watch even at such low speeds. I was almost disappointed when she pulled over to let me go.
