What does your day look like?

Seems you need to take some spanners and/or allen keys to tighten their ears back on......

Nothing worse than a rattling hearing aid!

Epic fail this morning...with the deferment of jury duty to Friday, no work (well monday is normally my weekend anyway), and an unexpected sunny day (but drizzle most of Friday and saturday locally) with a lot of wet presicted i decided I would squeeze in an adventure! Up early - fuck yes it is sunny and today's rain now expected tonight...Accommodation booked for a night, shit hurried into the bag, zip across town to train station...and watch the train doors close as i cruise into the station. Hmmmm...next train is 45 minutes away and is just going to blow out the trail plans so use the 45 minutes to reset my day which no longer involves the bonus trail riding. I probably shouldn't have stopped for that coffee at the station en route.

You gotta love Wyong...

Turns out this "cyclone bomb" has blown a bunch of trees down on the train line from Sydney to Newcastle. Anticipated arrival home is 3 to 4 hours later than originally scheduled.

Under the circumstances, I'm slightly surprised that no-one has pinched the QR out of the front wheel. Especially in Wyong...

It really is the kind of town that wpuld steal itself.

Many years ago i was on the train platform. There was a bunch of locals on various platforms, a couple were talking across the train lines. Just normal casual small talk, everyone getting along just fine. Suddenly the town went into a black out. Almost instantly the locals were yelling and arguing. One guy crossed the tracks to fight someone else. The town was filled with the sound of breaking glass, fighting, and sirens. Then my train came and I escaped the strange experience.

...no more jury duty, at this time.

Thanks arseholes. Such great timing. In theory we try and have the roster running a month in advance (shouldn't be too hard in events right? Live performances, conferences, and weddings dont usually just walk in and request a table) and amend a week or so out for any last minute changes or ooooopsies). So I am off the roster mon-fri pre 5pm for the whole month (my shifts usually run from 2 or 3pm) and last couple of days both T/Ls tidied everything up for next week. So now that is all completed...I get released. While overall I am very happy to be released from this civic duty, having about 4 weeks on ~20% income and not receiving the pissy little amount from jury duty is a huge inconvenience. Just occasionally I think to myself a permanent job might not be such a bad idea...then I remember it is a shit idea.

Now for some dry weather and bike riding!

That's the Wyong I remember...

...most of the central coast.

Around the time if the black out incident there was an excellent French restaurant there. It was so out of place! Amazing food, sleazy drunk French owner/chef, pretentious Australian owner/maitre de, and...the rest of the staff were locals. So much passion for their food! Sigh. There was a Brazilian restaurant at the entrance back then as well...I went there once. Some unfortunate local kid walking around trying to serve bbq chicken hearts with a tone like he was trying to convince you to eat cat shit and not throw up at the same time. Quite the opposite to a churasco staffed by Brazilians.

This board has only seen Australian ice... The file lives in the bag, but it must be almost out of edge to sharpen...

That's how my day started.

Sorry Dr @beeb , it was supposed to be three days working near Katunga by myself, getting shit done, and I 100% would have reached out. But the tractoring gods were not kind and it ended up being only one day on site, with one of my techs staying for the three days.

New achievement unlocked. Furthest distance driven in 5 working days = 2,683 km.
