What does your day look like?

No where enough weight on that towball.

Maybe this should be a new thread but that can get dragged out annually Out of interest how much are the lads charging for a tree?
Oh yes - $17 for a small one, $30 for a big one, or something in between for something in between or whatever we feel like at the time.

My personal hero was the guy who rolled up, parked right out front ignoring our guy directing traffic, spent literally 20 seconds choosing, paid and was going in under 3 min tops. Legend.
Dude, you'd love me. I'd have done similar except I would've parked as guided and selected the tree as I walked over to you. I'm all about "get in and get out". 😂

Think I might have posted these before, but whatevs... Some cool retro/alternative bicycle drivetrains at the local motor museum:

Would you like a quick freshen up of the roller bearings on your drive-stay(?) sir?

Aussies were rocking niche German gearboxes way before it was cool!

Spent a Christmas in Tokyo with inlaws (FIL was working in Tokyo and I had meetings in Kure and Akiba). Bought a tree in Rappongi. Parked in a sexy rotating car park. Tree was about $100. Parking for 15 minutes was double that!

Oh I agree, but you don't! What's the story?

EDIT: that was a mate's eeb that I took to fix some headset and shifting grumbles for him.

I would never insult the RB gods by buying a headset routed bike.

I did go for a decent scoot on this thing though and wow, even pedalling in the smallest cog in eco was super noticeable, you can literally start in the hardest cog and within 5-6 pedal strokes be up to speed.
The overrun (run on?) was weird AF (like you said @beeb), it kept trying to push me over the back of corners. Especially on switchback climbs, where I would usually be pedalling in and around the banked turn to maintain my momentum but with a slight pause as I lay the bike over initially, on this motorbike the overrun made that pause sketchy as. Probably just a timing thing but wasn't natural feeling at all.

Decsending was fun, but only because descending is fun no matter what I'm riding. Everything else about this moped was awful, it was like riding a motorbike, just with out the ability to power out of and off features. It felt like I was riding this

down the trail and it changed direction at least as bad as that thing probably does.

I kind of came away feeling like it was a laugh to ride. But not in a good way. Has definitely solidified my opinion WRT getting on the eebangelist train.

TL;DR: I will not be buying a moped any time soon.

Last week - had a whole new roof put on the house and all the box gutters remade and enlarged. And the low pitch roof insulated while the metal was off. $30K…

Mostly ok. If it was a house I wanted to keep long term I’d be a bit upset. They didn’t level the battens so there’s a dip that’s very noticeable now the metal isn’t old and matte. And one gutter is all over the place and angled back to the wall which isn’t ideal as water in the walls is the whole reason we got it done. It should be ok, but…

And one edge was to be a particular edge finish which they changed to something else as it was easier for them but didn’t ask. And their solution to making it the way we asked for it in the first place isn’t amazing. Rushed to get finished as it was their last day of the year. I shouldn’t have booked it for their last job of the year!

Sigh. Fuck it, it’s a house I don’t want to keep long term and it’s not anything that will affect selling it. I’ve learnt some things to ask if I’m ever doing this again and will not be made to feel bad for hovering and watching what they’re doing…
