Great looking bike @Oddjob The tough part of getting a bike for the SO is that they just might not get all excited over them as you would. The love of bike pr0n is deeply personal fondling experience.

I too have tried to suggest gentle upgrade and Mrs is more than happy to stick with the venerable KHS Softtail 'because it is comfortable'. Good enough reason for me.

I must say though a Pivot 429 (I have a 429C) is true demonstration of love, one of the best XC enduro frames in the biz

I don't love my wife as much as you, I built mine a hard tail! But it's very light.

Mwahaha I also have a 29er carbon hardtail ready to build as well. My wife is a really good road cyclist with a killer power to weight ratio. She doesn't know it yet bit I plan to use that to my advantage at the next team marathon race I enter.

OoOoOoh! I've got a 5.7c and I plan on getting a 429sl, just to round out the DW-link stable. I'm kind of tempted by an Ibis Ripley ls though.
