I've experienced trying to buy a Sapim CX Ray spoke here... then thought I'd get a few extras, cant remember how many but they were $18 each from a LBS.
I remember feeling pretty fucked as I walked out.
EDIT: IIRC my random request was 6 in total, not thinking it was going to be stupid.

Even ordering from overseas they're expensive. I've used them once and never again, so noisy.

Pingy, creaky ! Probably the first 20-25 sets of wheels I built were all light spokes, CX Ray, CX Laser, DT Aerolites, DT Revo and DT Supercomps. Then I went for a burlier build one day and used DT Comps... wow, how nice are they without the highly strung, stretchy lightweights. Been on them ever since.
Probably last 10 sets have all been DT Comps with a few similar Sapim Race and one build of cheaper Pillar PSR which resulted in pulling a few spokes through the rim after 2 rides, then retired to the scrap rail, just in case I need something from it later.
