Which 8spd shifters???

I'm looking for 8spd shifters. Which ones are good? around the $100 mark.

Can be Sram or Shimano.

PS: Needs to be a trigger shifter, i have a phobia for gripshifts

sram don't make a 8spd trigger so thats out.

it basicaly comes down to what you can find.

LX has plastic internal gears and they can get a bit sloppy, while XTs have metal insides and shift crisper for longer.

they dont make 8sp XT's anymore, but u might be able to find some of the old stock around, i think my bike shop down here still has a couple

A couple of months ago your lbs would have still been able to order 8spd XT shifters from Shimano, it seems as though S. Aus have quite a stock of the things; as far as I know they're still available, so get your shop to make a call.

Apparently Shimano Aus bought the last of the XT 8spds when they ceased production. Winner!
