Whisky!

I just bought a delicious whiskey: Coastal Stone Single Malt 8yo. Distilled in Brookvale at Manly Spirits distillery. Only 92 bottles of this produced.

I'll return to this post later, I should have some very interesting news by end of August. Shhh!

Distillery pic is me meeting the management and distillery team last night.

"I got into the bottle, just a little taste in said...ooooooh that's good, better go again. Next thing I am in the lounge room surfing on the ironing board, socks on my hand and jocks on my head, the bottle is empty, and ive rolled all my super into buying the company. To try and recoup some of this my first action is to sell some cask strength limited edition bottles...pm to deal."

Am I close @scblack ?

There are elements en-pointe!

I haven't had the 21yr hibiki, mildly jealous as I am quite a fan of the various offerings I've had. It must be one of the world's most desirable blends.

This is one of my take home bottles...

...

One of my clients mid season doesn't drink and had plenty of space in his luggage so offered to take home some whisky for me. There wasn't a lot available where we were but I did find kavalan no 1. Looking forward to retrieving that in a few days.
...
How is/was the Kavalan No.1?

BTW, it is named after an indigenous tribe that basically killed any outsiders that washed ashore. Quite a few ships hit reefs and the crew that survived and came ashore were promptly killed for tresspassing! The Han Chinese never successfully had any settlements in Taiwan until after the Spanish and the Dutch had settled and built fortified settlements after being there for more than a century, so how Beijing makes the claim Taiwan always belonged to them, is only through fiction. Their (CCP) historians even found links in the past that they had settled Australia.

I havent opened it yet. Between working too much, working with booze all the time, not actually drinking much/frequently, and not really drinking at home often...I havent gotten around to it. I am going to assume that it is good. I havent had a whisky of theirs that hurt my feelings.

Hubba hubba!

They are all very good. First order direct from them is 10% off.

Probably the muscat, but they are all good.

That is a delicious choice! With those various bortlings they have achieved an amazing amount of transfer of flavours from the barrels.

Have you gone all in for the Morris brand yet? CBD stay in Hotel Morris, drinks in Bar Morris...which does a very nice boulevardier with Morris whisky rather than bourbon.

Have not gone all in on the brand but have certainly stocked up on their tasty beverages.

Well, I did the deed, and am now an owner of Manly Spirits! Yes, I am a shareholder.

Who is old enough to remember the Remington ad: I liked it so much, I bought the Company!
Well I now live that ad, I like the Coastal Stone whiskey and Manly Spirits gin so much I bought in.
One little perk: I am about to receive 125 bottles of whiskey.

That is not a typo. I receive 125 of their whiskey bottles. Guess what everyone's xmas present from me is this year!

Their 8 year whiskey is good: not cheap but my god it's good!

The cap actually has Northern Beaches sandstone in it.
