Wombat Classic entries for march 4, 2017 have opened, mostly the same course as this year with some slight re-design to help the congestion in the tight stuff [pls don't bring 8400mm bars & think you can ride through a gap of 710mm]

any questions just ask, course will be most likely just under 50km again, 2hr10min if you're shit hot, 3hrs for guys like moorey & 4hr+cramps for overweight/unfit dudes

I remember a corner early on at the last one that must have had 150 odd bar ends on the ground, much chuckle had :))

ill be selling bar ends at registration & after the event, based on last year we'll make more from those sales than actual entry fee's..they'll be printed with wombats

perhaps I should bring the angle grinder also?:noidea:

This track is the reason why I had to cut my 780mm bars, even 760 is a bit of a stretch with some trees. I love it dearly though.

does anyone know what the vertical gain is for the 50km? I've entered, just like to know what to expect.

at this stage course is just under 50, vert gain will be somewhere close to 700m, some garmin say 600, 650 700 etc

Rode out there for the first time last weekend, 760mm bars. Just clipped one tree after the dam towards the end of the 1&2 loop. My fault was talking and not paying proper attention, other then that i made it through all of the other tight spots at speed fine. Its good to see somewhere that still has lots of tight spots like that these days trails are getting way toooooo wide.

Fantastic trails guys, dissapointedly i think im interstate that weekend otherwise id love give the race a crack.

PS a tip, course is not last year's its similar but we have made some changes , long fire rd climb is gone - we have changed some single track also
last year's gpx file isn't much good to you
