Would this suffice for XC?

I saw a guy riding one in the last 12 hour I did.

that says enough for me. all depends how comfortable you are pedalling the bike though I guess.

cannondale's are light bikes but i don't think this will be as light as you're wanting if you're gonna do any racing. very nice bike though. good for fairly heavy trailriding.

Check your gearing though. If you can pump out a Rennie like 2000watts that 12-27 cassette will be ok. depends what chainrings are on it i guess. a 22 granny will get you covered.

Tell us how heavy you are Daver, and what your riding style is like.
For you, I reckon it'd make for a great XC/trail bike that you can punish day in day out.

Most people say "light and short travel for xc", but yours stats above throws that equation out the window ;)

Whats with the forks? LOLOL are they any good I have only seen them in photos.
Well, the forks in the photo are pretty nice. they're now living on the front of my CAAD4 hardtail. Stiff as and plush. What more can you ask for? The ones that are on teh Gemini now are just longer trave and supposedly have better damping too.
