Location: Any will pay for post
Price range/Willing to Pay: Neg let me know what you have
Extra Info:
Wanting to see how a hip pack goes compared to a pack.
Seen some reviews and they look okay but in the comments it mentions that mens hips aren't as wide as womens so they may be uncomfortable....

Any preferences on these, I may be needing an extra bottle for summer rides, one of these might do the job.

I’ve got the older model with only 1 bottle holder. It’s got space for snacks, cash, keys, phone, sunnies… mini pump, bacon strip deployment tool… etc.
Rarely use the bottle holder because it does add 500-750g extra weight. But good for longer rides with no taps enroute. This one has two!! bottle holders, so you can double fist the hydration and fit some snacks!
Personally I don’t want more than this much weight in a hip pack / bumbag. So no bigger 3-5l packs for me.

Sorry @dancaseyimages, mines not for sale. But a pineapple gets you one from mtbdirect.

I'm running the same and they're very good. Easy to use, the weight is low and you stop carrying stuff you don't need.

Get onto it.

Bonty Rapid FTW. I have used one for a few years now. It has weened me off from carrying a full backpack for 1-2 hour rides.
Just resist the urge to overpack any hip pack and carry your water bottle on the frame.

I second Crudley, if you can find a bonty hip pack give it a go, I have the rapid pack hydro and the smaller pack that only carries a waterbottle. fit is great , straps are awesome, pockets are a good size. Sooo much better than a back pac for those super hot humid ride days. been using hip packs for like 5 yrs now and never gone back to a back pac

Definitely should have gone to specsavers
I was keen to try the Lab Austere hip pack that a few YT'ers roll with, but at $108 AUD shipping it's a bit much. I've got a 40% off code for the pack itself, reducing it to $75 AUD so it would be worthwhile ordering 3 or 4 if there was some interest in others wanting to try it.

^ Just a follow up on my previous post. Shortly after posting I got a notification from Lab Austere saying they were having a 50% off everything sale for their 5 year anniversary or something, so my curiosity got the better of me and I bought this hip pack. After trying it out yesterday I can see the attraction in them - it's definitely like wearing a tradies tool belt, they sit below your belt line and almost disappear while riding. At one point I thought I'd lost my water bottle but it was still snug in the holster.

Good news for anyone else wanting to try too. I bought some extras to make the shipping worthwhile. Expect a couple to pop up in the for sale section shortly - not trying to profit, just selling for what they cost me.
