Mr Greenfield
their business model, rightly or wrongly, is based around low margin, 1 year warranty, fuck off with your ACL bs

This guy used a Wintek cartridge which was sold as a 'Giant' unit.

FWIW, if it's $60 for the cartridge and the importer will service it for $99 that seems like a good deal?

Yeah, I'm assuming it will go nowhere fast. I'll write the email anyways and cc in the ACCC consumer peeps for shits and giggles anyway :)

For a long time 1 year was the standard period of warranty for bike parts other than the frame. I was under the impression that the relevant law was a bit vague - reasonable period of time as per value, cost, quality etc. It is worth pulling the consumer protections out against retailers/importers who try and bluff their way through. It may not work out but it may.
