Xt 8000 lever to ultegra flat mount caliper?

hi, looking to run a flat bar on my cx / commuter bike
Just want to ask if anyone can help, can you run mtb xt m8000 levers with Shimano flat mount (road) calipers?
Is there a difference in Shimano road & mtb calipers?
Also have a Sram rival rear derailleur can I use a mtb shifter?

may just have to wind back the lever pull ratio

All Shimano road & MTB hydro levers & calipers are interchangeable. The differences are in the caliper shaping & mount, and pad shapes.

As for the shifter/derailleur, depends if you're 10 or 11-sp. SRAM road 10 & 11-sp. plus MTB 10-sp. work on a common leverage ratio. MTB 11-sp. is different. So you can use a 10-sp. MTB shifter with the Rival derailleur, but not an 11-sp. SRAM do make flat-bar road shifters.

Awesome thanks for the info duckmeister! Makes the braking change easy. Got sram 11 speed so sounds like I’ll need a road flat bar shifter.
