80k Mullum Loop

And I'm curious. With the bucketing down this week, where are people planning to ride on the weekend? I need some ideas! Anything ride-able without hopping in the car?

I guess I could do repeats of the climb above :nono:

Cheers,

was listening to weather forecast could be the wettest on record for june/july - so looking like some ST up high only but that's it. here's what the doctor has ordered for you.

thanks cheesoy great list and links .... kudos that you are on many top 10s.

Yep monument climb is probably the king maker due the steepness and technical challenge. Looks like the climb I posted from lower ST up to the Boulie (Climb from under Eastern Freeway Bridge up to Yarra Blvd) has an average grade of 18.5% where monument is 14.2%. of course monument has the rocks where climb under eastern has the very thin climb line.

there's also the climb up to the crit loop as part of monument loop - the old road access it looks like to me.

the only other climbs I can think of within reach are on Han's loop 'switch backs'.

hehe I saw your name is on a few of those climbing segments also AA :)

re: "the climb up to the crit loop as part of monument loop" id that the one with some dodgy looking wooden steps near the top and comes out a bit below the Monument Climb? I have created a segment for that before but the GPS drift from the teardrop crits tends to ruin the leaderboard on that one :(

I like! I did the Urban Epic a few weeks ago which is that ride plus a bit more ST before you hit the freeway (before the creek). Funnily enough didn't get tired until I hit the path along the freeway going home.

Without the ST it would be a good hitout on the SS. I just need to find a lazy 4.5 hours!

Yes! Only a few tiny bits not doable.
we added some ST so it's certainly cx friendly if you go just path to westerfolds and mullum path only, and the cx will rip the freeway path on the way back in fact you'll be sipping on a latte at the boathouse whilst the mtbs are still going under the paper mills bridge.

*paths are slippery on bends along mullum and also at the end of mullum path its a bit confusing i.e. making your way onto freeway path - so mullum path ends at Tindals rd, and which way? the path along creek was still unfinished so the way we went had a few good road climbs to get to freeway path.

Aren't pretty much all the riders on the Yarra Trails, bits of Fairies?:noidea:
Shouldn't have mentioned that puddle on Cressy mate. Do you want me to teach you how to bunny hop.
The is no lack of fairies along the Yarra. My 5 year old knows where many fairies live and we spot their homes, like under large mushrooms. Most of the fairies are of little help, they are interested in flowers, trees, the water and small animals. We are trying to get them interested in trail maintenance. The Yarra is a magical area for fairies.

I'm sure ubiquitous and omnipresent are hard standards to continually strive for.

But sometimes, less is moore(y).

Here here, you're only trying to defend the indefensible.:tape2:

loose the big words and keep it simple and trashy thanks

gee its wet - serious amount of rain. I am thinking of trying canoeing- looks like fun when the river is swollen. Physically it would be difficult for a novice me thinks. I will have my new bike to build up tomorrow, anyone want to come around and look after the kids would be great.

I only rode from the pipe bridge to dickies and one part of the trail was flooded between the highway and the bridge across to the jumps. Good fun though I crashed twice on the slippery trails.

I'd bring my daughter for a play date but I'm going riding.
