You know you're getting old when ...

Does anyone find that the older the get (thinking wrong side of half a tonne, here) the easier it is to get DOMS and the longer it sticks around?

DOMS is the gods punishment for inconsistency. I Can train legs 2 or 3 days a week and be fine. One day a week and 2 days later i can only waddle. Skip a week and forget about stairs

A rare YKYGOW/LTIL crossover.

YKYGOW The fashions of your late teens are back in vogue so you can actually buy some clothes you like, and bonus points because they were the same price as you used to pay back then. o_O

(Bought some shoes and T-shirts yesterday, and the pair of Globes were only $110 - I swear that's cheaper than they were back in the day... 😍)

Except now you just look like an old guy trying to look cool

The burn...it's real.

A few years ago a young somewhat trendy colleague advised me that my attire gave off peak soundgarden vibes and she asked it I had changed the way I choose clothing since 1994? I had...due to lack availability my pants were much less baggy, but she didn't think that counted.

she was also not interested in my assertion that 1991 was peak soundgarden.

Roll with it @beeb but know you paid too much for your shoes.

Do or do not, there is no try!

Not enough black, but accurate of many a work day...

Maybe I do need a new hat.

Another YKYGOW - Winamp's (free) 'retro' player. 😍

A masterpiece of classic UI and simple, effective shortcut keys - modern apps and programs could learn a lot from this simple MP3 player. (Particularly love 'Shift-V' to stop the current track but with a smooth 5-second fade-out, and/or 'Ctrl-V' to stop at the end of the track - rather than the abrupt silence of a song stopped mid-track)

I've currently got it setup to play through from laptop into a set of Sony XM-1000XM4's via Bluetooth for a best of old-school simplicity and new world tech, and it also means I can listen to some loud things without disturbing the neighbours. 😅

Yes there's streaming and apps on your phone and all that shit, but this makes me happier.

Can you customise the skin though?

And, and, can you run the trippy vis plugins?

Nice song choice there 😊

Sure can (but possibly just from the original standard options, haven't checked past that - there were some wild ones back in the day).

Yep. Epileptic fits for everyone.

Haha, ta! Started with God Hates Us All, then backwards to Seasons in the Abyss.

YKY are OW you become concerned about not disturbing the Neighbor’s with loud music.

YKYGOW, trying to climb around in roof cavities again...
I get it. Or in, under, around and on a car running wiring, hoses, etc.

I was in the carport, up on the roofrack marking out the solar panel mounts when a brief but intense shower passed over. Figured I would just sit there and watch it. Later when I climbed down I noticed my hiking boots that I kicked off to climb onto the roof were now sodden and likely unusable for a week or more...

being in the roof space is fine, its the contortion getting in and out through the manhole from the top of the ladder thats a struggle
I had a pretty big win when i renovated my house. The original man hole was in the laundry under the hip rafter on the corner of the house. You pretty much had to slide into the roof space dodging the hanging beams. I put another one in our bathroom so you can pretty much walk up the ladder and into the roof. It's not high enough to stand up but it is at least the highest point in the roof and it has no obstructions.
