    Hi everyone
Went to the youies on labour day and was having a great time till i hit the jump park, god damb that gravel is so slippy. Anyway was riding really well till the third jump and bailed ,landed on my feet but slid the whole transition on my knee resulting in gravel rash down to the bone. gonna have an awesome scar.
I would like to thank the other riders who stopped help, thanks so much guys ,it's good to know there's still nice people around.
On the way out of the park there was another rider down who looked in a quite bad way. (brake lever in the thigh) Hope your allright mate.
Anywho the dumbest thing about my injury was i left my knee pads in the car cause the guys i was riding with wanted to stick to the x country trails. lesson learnt.
P.S. have good flesh wound photo if anyone wants to see some gore. Be lucky

    Default encounter with snake

Riding there on Monday around midday with a friend. We were climbing the new XC switchback climb (called Rockford or something) and my mate had gone ahead. As I was just coming out on the road at the top he asked me if my tyre was leaking air as he heard a loud hissing sound. I looked down and the tyre was fine - he jokingly said it was probably a tiger snake. I looked past were he was and right were he had been waiting for me there was a two meter snake making its way acrosss the road. He had been sitting there in the shade with the snake two meter away hising at him to move away and once he did the snake went past him. Good to know they will warn you that they are there and you are in their way. It was light brown in colour and quite sleek headed - no obvious marking like a tiger or python - or head marking like a copperhead - think it was a brown snake.

The only snake you will find up there is an eastern brown, pretty much what you described, they are also up there with one of the worlds deadliest.

Ah, the old Brown snake. He's known as Dave, David to his mum, and names that shan't be repeated here by his wife.
Glad you guys got away without being struck!

Aah Dave the Brown snake. I see him up there every so often. He's usually pretty scared of anything that comes near him anyway. It's the Tiger snakes that have the bad attitudes usually.
