Default RS Monarch RT3 - bottomless rings???

    Hey all,

I wanted to reduce the volume of my RS Monarch RT3 and watched a few vids showing a slide off outer can over the inner screwed in can. I purchased some rings thinking they were universal for the Monarch but it appears my shock doesn't have the outer can. Are there volume spacers for the basic RT3 (not debonair or high volume)? Am I missing something?

    Cheers

Isn't there an o-ring you got to pick out on the can and then the outer slides down. You might have a low volume aircan version not sure what goes on there.

Post a pic up of the actual model shock you have as there's a few different models.

Pre 2014 I think didn't have the outer air can, but they are different sizes (one for std, one for debonair and HV)
Focus Spine Factory C- X01- Pikes
    Soma 650B-Side - X9 1x10 -Revelation RL
    Giant Defy Advanced Pro 0- Ultegra 6870 + R785's

It's a 2016 model. Looking at the RT3 service manual, there are 3 air cans: Standard, high volume and debonair. The standard has no outer sleeve which is what I have. I did read somewhere that some are sticking a big blob of grease in the air chamber to reduce volume... In theory it should work.

Not sure why you would want to reduce volume on a standard air can? What issues are you having?

at 20% sag I seem to blow through travel fairly easy. Just want to experiment really. Now that I have my $15 rubber bands, it would be a shame not to use them... should I upgrade my air can...?

If you blow through your travel fairly easily with std air can a Debonair is not going to help.
More pressure in the shock i'm afraid and maybe a tad slower rebound could help.
