    Default PF30BB -> threaded BSA e.thirteen.. wtf

    Hey gang,

    I'm on a run of newbie questions and this BB in my torrent has me stuffed, seems to be a frankenstein of a design and have no idea how to move forwards. It say pressfit but it has a threaded BB wtf!

    The TRS+ crank has play in it that no amount of tightening seems able to remove (on the spindle, not lateral), so I'm now looking at other options for cranks, but as above, I have no idea what will work in this format. Would like to KISS with something like a saint etc, something I know and understand :)

    cheers!

    That looks like a preload collar, not a threaded BB.
    Just ride the bloody thing and enjoy yourself!

    I build wheels... :wink:

    the TRS+ has a collar that is supposed to provide the preload, but if I tighten it up to recommended tourque the crank gets tight even with preload fully minimum and there is still few mm play in at the pedals.. trying to explain, if I grab both pedals with my hands and press down the pull up I feel movement. there is no obvious wear on the shaft so no idea why I cant get rid of the play.

    Spec says pf30. Chances of it being a Threaded bb are minimal.

    your right, did more digging and this is the BB: https://bythehive.com/collections/cr...nt=21306304129

    So if I wanted to install something like a saint crank I guess there will be some faffing about to get the right shaft diameter?

    Measure the Width of the bb shell. You'll need a pf30 bb for a Hollowtech II cranks (24mm) diameter.
    It's pretty standard..... hopetech make a particularly good one.... but you need a special install tool.
