When I have time, I’ll probably remove eyelets, use existing hole for the crossbar, and use Velcro straps with the channels to eliminate the need for rope.
A strap will be gentler on your wheels. Betterer. Have a good trip. Keep away from farms and crazies in high viz with bows.
