Installing new shifter for the rear derailleur.
- pulled cable through frame and then through rear derailleur, pulled firm and tightened up.
- shifter now only moves up and down two clicks.
- let the tension off cable, shifter still only moves two positions.

Its an xtr shifter. What have I farked?

Does anyone know anything about the hubs on a 2016 Roval 29er alloy wheelset. They're specialized Hi/Lo Hubs, but all I can find is they have sealed bearings

View attachment 343676 How can these possibly be the same fork?
Ps, dress was blue.
It looks like the anodising must have worn off and resulted in a high sheen polished on the raw metal...you've potentially dodged a bullet with the stanchions, if you ended up with the black finish. The nickel finish Marzocchi used to apply can be prone to a few faults. I've seen discolouration and pitting in a few of them over the years. The down side (from memory) is the nickel coating usually went on the outside of the fancy forks. Not that you'll be looking.

Edit: solid fail - saw the chrome and brain said "Marzocchi". I didn't see any of the RS labelling.

I don't know how much they have changed over the years, but the hi/lo hubs have been stock on a lot of speech bikes over the years. Pretty sure one of my chums has them on his specialised status and they roll just fine after a lot of use.

Haha, that gets everyone the first time.
And is it the fault of everyone or the shifter? Wondering what I've done to cause it!

Anyhoo, next stupid question...

11sp medium length derailleur installed on a 11-46 cassette. The derailleur is fouling against the larger cogs. Even on the smallest cog, the jockey wheels sit too close to the cassette.

What could be the potential causes?

*Pics tell a thousand words, but apparently my files are too big to upload*

A) Not the shifter's fault. Nor does it affect everyone, just the incompetent and/or inattentive.

B) Wind the B-pivot adjuster screw in to push the derailleur lower & clear the sprocket.
That's gotta be the easiest question out of the 1000's you've ever answered!

Is having your fork compressed for an amount of time bad for it?
I strap my bike down on the back of my flat tray ute by the head stem. It pulls the fork down half an inch before I'm satisfied my pride and joy isn't going to fly off down the road like someones Yeti in the Fuckwits thread a while ago.

You'd be better off to let all the air out then secure the bike. Alternatively secure it upside down. This puts mote weights at the bottom and gives (via handle bars) a wider base.
