I've not lost all hope yet. Certainly the Democrats are a f***ing shambles right now but they've got two candidates in Bernie Sanders and Michael Bloomberg who whilst at opposite ends of the political spectrum can both claim to be sufficiently independent from the DNC to be able to hijack the vote - much in the same way Trump did to the Republicans.
Personally I reckon Bloomberg is the safer choice - Bernie's supporters are certainly the loudest and most enthusiastic but demographically speaking the Youth Vote is a lost cause and Sanders scares a lot of the old farts who overwhelmingly make up the numbers in an aging electorate.
Bloomberg has no real baggage, he can out-do Trump in the successful businessman stakes and all Trump has managed to hit him on so far is his height, which backfired when Bloomberg's camp immediately went low by saying [Trump] “lies about everything: his fake hair, his obesity, and his spray-on tan.”
