I'm still going to work because I can and I have to financially but I wish I would be ordered to stay home. Even knowing I will not be paid. It's the best and quickest way out!

Still dropping my son off for the same reason, and my family agrees it needs to be called despite the burden.

Son works for a computer repairs and sales shop, arguably in a lock down more essential than say boutique fashion or jewellery or diy. But the message we just got is shopping centres are open.

Stupid people stood down will not be able to socialise but can still romp through the shops leaving the virus on surfaces they don't have the capacity to clean. They will think that's ok, and still miss the whole point. They will literally take that message as my bathroom painting project keeps the essential retail worker in the economy going.

Those out of work could start webcasting funerals, a whole new line for wedding photographers and a new opportunity for tech savvy peeps laid off. A bit Gerry Harvey of me I know but being at funerals virtually is arguably more important than buying extra fridges to hoard.

I heard an ad on the radio this morning for a funeral home that does a web feed for those who can't attend. Strange world we live in.

Just to make everyone feel even better about how the gov is going.. We have relo’s the live on one of the big greek islands. They haven’t had one case. Yet all schools closed and all non essential work shutdown. They can only leave the house in groups of two or they are fined 50 odd euro.. Same lockdown as the rest of euro, with no cases. And the people are happy about it.. Couldn’t give a fk about the economic impact even though their country is essentially broke..

I only ask because I can guarantee that, even now, there are families out there staking claims to prime pieces of Murray River frontage for a few days of 'getting away from it all' with every other idiot. And that scenario will be replicated right across this country....
