Alrighty, I'm going then
What is the connection between Carl von Linde (Discoverer and inventor of the Refrigeration cycle) and Rudolph Diesel (Inventor of the Diesel Engine)

I remember from uni days they both were working on creating an efficient engine design using the carnot cycle and I am therefore guessing that Rudolf either got there first or pinched bits of Linde's design.

More or less
Linde was actually Diesel's lecturer in Refrigeration and Thermal Dynamics
Diesel designed and patented the Engine on his own merits, but using the knowledge he obtained working under CvL.

Off you go DC...make it a beauty!

Ah, didn't know that bit of info.

Keeping on a carnot cycle theme before Melbourne was named Melbourne what was it called?
