I don't think I can manage 3 days in a row, so I'm going to pike out tonight but I will be along tomorrow. I'm looking forward to getting a tour of some of the single track closer to the city, maybe see if I can include some of it in my commute.

Huw at Commuter Cycles was running a Wednesday night ride from the boat house but I haven't heard anything for a few weeks. It may be worth giving him a try though
Thanks again to Blakey and the other organisers it was a great day out.
Coaster - I just checked on mapMyRide and it says the total climb was 723m, I'm not sure how accurate that is - it felt like more than that. Still it made a nice long hit out before the Odyssey.
Giro used to make a helmet called the switchblade that could be converted between a full face and a XC type helmet. I'm not sure if they still make them (or if they are Oz standard) but I sounds like it would be perfect for you needs.

Cheers
I went out to the giant demo day at the You Yangs today to try the anthem 29er and I have to say I was very impressed. Its the first time I've had a proper ride on a 29er but being a big guy I was expecting the big wheels to work for me and I wasn't disappointed.
Right from the off I felt very...
Cheers for the heads up on the demo day. I'm booked in to try a large, shame there is no XL available, still should be able to get a feel for the bike.

There is a new 11 speed Alfine hub about now that from what I understand gives you more gears, easier maintenance, a nicer shifter and its meant to be lighter - though I think its still pretty tubby a costs a bit more.
I think my brother is just about to pull the trigger on one for his...
I was over in the UK in June an was lucky enough to have 5 day riding the 7Stanes in scotland on carbon X-Control demo bike. The bike (and the trails) were fantastic, the shop i borrowed it from was looking to sell the bike on and I was sooo tempted to bring it back with me. But having just...
