road v mtb
I have ridden road for a couple of years and only recently taken up MTB, with the proviso that I live in Hobart and ride up the side of a mountain when off road (lots of hills on road), I find MTB forcing me to a whole new level of fitness.

Unfortunately a bell is the most reconisable signal to walkers, if you get a small one the same colour as your handle bars it shouldn't be to visible.
Anything else will probaly just confuse the walkers (they have enough trouble working out what a bicycle bell is).:rolleyes:

Thanks for the heads up about the Avanti sale, I shot into the LBS and grabbed an Atomic Disc as my first real mountain bike.
I've done stacks of road riding but want to give off road a serious go.
