each and every person here has a different opinion on this.
i personally don't like rockshock.
and do like marzocchi.
i much prefer the feel of the shivers, but i weigh nearly 100kg.
ride both if you can, and make a choice then, don't decide without givng both a really good test tho.
and what about a new super t maybe?

I've had 2 Boxxers (1 world cup) and I didn't realize how shit they were until I got a Shiver. My Judy carbon XC was shit. My Judy DH was shit. My SID was shit. My coupe deluxe was shit. My 2000 Boxxer was shit and my Boxxer WC was shit. Am I farkin stupid or what. 6 years to figure it out. Shit shit shit.

Of course, others on this site influenced by sponsorship, race results and advertising may disagree.

Oh, I love bagging out RS. Does that make me a bad person? (I think $10,000 worth of shit RS stuff gives me a right though). Mwah mwah mwah.

shivers

a guy up here in Brisbane is selling a pair of
2001 shivers off a kona stab primo
they are the silver and black ones
not the red and champayne ones

but they have no guards
and no holes in the dropouts to fit them
you can buy the guards from marzocchi distributor
for 15 bucks each
but can't fix them on the dropouts

so i'm a bit hesitant

anyone had the same problem and found
a way to fit them ?

Shiver dropouts are gigantic, I'm sure there'd be a fairly simple way of attaching guards to em.

BTW, I used to own a Shiver, and the only thing I'd ever trade it for (and did) was another Marzocchi... IMO they're much nicer than Boxxers.

theres always a way to fit guards if you want to look.
shivers seem to have the better mainainance intervals, and seem to last a lot longer than boxxers.
but as i said i'm not a fan of rockshit in any way, shape or form.
had too many forks of theirs crap out way to quickly.

shivers

alot of people still run the boxxers though

you are right you should be able to fit the guards
with a bit of think about it
just thought someone out there
might already have a good way of doing it
so i didn't need to think about it too much

yeah the shivers are a good fork

anyone know if the 2001 shivers
have any problems with them
that were sorted in the later models
or are they basically stayed the same only the
stickers have changed ?

They're identical as far as I know, with a possible exception to this being that the new ones have integrated stems - but I'm 99% sure that's just a slightly different top crown.

guards

BTW
For anyone who is interested
group sportif (marzocchi distributor)
reckons i should drill and tap them
but line them up properly first
and don't go bigger than 3mm tap
