As someone who hasn't ridden the track before I don't think it's a great idea.

I'm a new racer and I wasn't able to link the track up from top to bottom until my 5th and last run on Saturday. It would be pretty crap to have to do a seeding run when you can't do the whole track.

hey Steve,

I have to agree with Nicho on this one. As someone who has never raced on this track, I'm going to need all the time I can get to practice (and hopefully not crash this time). As another old fart in the "gentlemen's" category, and I use that term loosely, we can always do what we have done in the past rounds.

Seeding runs on saturday arvo just cuts down everyone practice time and what about the riders who can only make it on sunday. Where in the starting order will they start?

Hey Steve,

I'd also support no seeding on the Sat.

Last year was my first time riding del Rio and I remember it took us all morning to have a few runs and stop at various places checking lines etc (not to mention the time taken for the push ups). By the time we got our heads around the track and our lines, it was near dark Sat arvo.

It would be nice to have Sat as practise and Sunday morning for refresher and getting our race face on. Just my 2c.

Adam.

The best thing about the state series was that it was a bit more relaxed than nationals but a bit more organised than a clubbie. Saturday was more about having a whole day to ride, socialise, set up the bike, and have a bit of fun than it was about competing. Now Saturday will run to a schedule so won't be the same and we'll all get less runs for more money. Can't see the point.

I've got Gravity on my side
I totally agree with everyone who is saying NO to seeding runs on Saturday, the only grades it is important to is Men and Womens A grade and Under 19's, if you want to seed on Saturday only do those 3 grades.
Everyone else already has a ranking if they have previously raced in this series and those that haven't will be put at the back of the pack.
Please don't have have seeding runs on the Saturday!!!
I have to say sorry, but I am now weighing up if it is worthwhile going to the event! I love riding this track and I want to be able to ride/practise it all day Saturday.

Change

Hmmm I'm gonna reserve my opinion untill after the race. Yes there are good and bad in all changes and the question is which has the bigger positive outcome. The only issue is that us old blokes have to get up that puhsy bit one more time.... LOL Na lets try it and see migh be something good (or bad) that no one has forseen come out of it.. Great work guys for trying somethig different. If your not pissing some people off at some stage your not doing your job ( Dugs First rule of Change management:p) I'll be there Friday arvo so if I get up the track I'll chuck in and land a hand setting up... I'll volunteer to test run the track......( Or anything else you need a hand with);)..

Oh yeah "What you think of ME or MY opinion is none of MY business"

Alright, after talking to Castek back to normal, Saturday practice, only timed runs on Sunday afternoon.

And for those talking about the $10, seeing we already have entries, I will work out some way to put the extra back to into the event.

very glad seeding is off for saturday.
What about what happened at stromlo? I thought it ran smooth and it meant that u19, Elites, got 2 timed runs. It boosts confidence in my opinion and is a great oportunity to improve your riding ;)
just my thoughts.

Stromlo happened because there were so few A graders, Under 19's & A Women. Thredbo 93, AWABA 80, Stromlo 66, so instead of first run Thredbo 47 minutes Awaba 40 minutes Stromlo 33 minutes and with only 197 riders at Stromlo approx 100 minutes to get field through so roughtly 2 hours, so we decided to run seeding instead of qualifying.

Forcast is for rain all weekend so track will be closed June 5, 6 no social rides. Track will hold up in wet but do not want to chop roads and track before race. Have fixed the bottom B line removed tree and put zig zag back in, do not remove the zig zag as had happened, that makes the B line faster than the A line and yes I know it is hard to do, I use the B line. Have not yet fixed the holes after the rock drop.

Super keen for this weekend.
Will be a little frustrating waiting for the "streams" of riders to come through when I'm filming due to the push-up but I suppose, I will cope.
Looking to be a great weekend! :D
