2015 giant trance 27.5 2

Nice build...

Put a deposit down on a 2 yesterday... Priced to sell at the moment at $2300

A few questions...

Whats the bike weigh from factory (I've read 13.1kg for a med without pedals)
What do the tubes weigh?
Whats the factory bar weigh?

It's gonna be a long wait to get this thing... I live at the base of Mt Sugarloaf (Near Newcastle) and tried all the cheap options.... Bought a cheap hardtail first, crap. Borrowed a semi decent hardtail for a while, crap (spring fork, heavy, 8spd). Bought a carbon GT Zaskar Elite 29er.... Nice bike... Bought used for a good price... But still just not cutting it. Dually time. It's funny, I have mates into riding who tried to tell me...

Cheers
Phill

Forks and tyres

Hi mates.

I own the same Redline316's Giant Trance 2 2015.
I often ride FR/DH, not everytime...
I have recently made my first upgrade with Giant contact SL seatpost which I think is a REALLY useful uprade.
Now I would like to ask you guys, some suggestions about upgrading Forks and Tyres.

First: which is the thickest Tyre I can go to? 2.30? Does the 2.35 fits in the rear triangle?

Second: which is the longest fork's travel allowed without climbing problems?
Is a 180mm fork too much for the Trance?
Should I go for a 160 mm only?

All suggestions will be appreciated.
Thanks in advance and my apologies for a not-perfect English.

Cheers from Italy.

2.35 tyres fit in back no problem I feel 2.5 would fit as well.

160mm fork longest you should go without putting too much stress on frame or affecting climbing too much.

Looks great mate!
I recently made almost the same dropper upgrade.
(mine is contact switch SL)
It is a must-have on an enduro bike.
Can I ask you the way you choose the tyre type?
Is there any "universal" tyre good, both for mud and wet rocks or I have to mount a specific kind in the front and another one in the back?
Can you help me choosing the right Maxxis tyre, as per your experience?
I would like to learn something more before going @the shop..
Grazie in advance!

PS: great support/feedback received here.
Much appreciated.
