Larger wheel size means that they will roll faster and get over rocks and such with more ease.
But for like everything bike related, it has disadvantages, such as a reduced strength (and larger weight? Might be minor)

They are also an advantage to the Giants among us as it offers a larger bike.

If you're tall and lanky and lacking the ability to 'roll over trail obstacles' (or pick lines, bunnyhop...etc) then its a massive leap forward. Oh also if you're over obsessed with lattes and woollen riding gear probably also a good choice.
