Got a Sam hill horizon stem. It creaks. Also have the horizon bars. I really like them even though they were bent in a bail, I’ll grab another set.So... Renthal then. I like their push on grips. Might stay away from their stems.
Anyone run nukeproof stuff from crc? Horizon stem and bars look ok.
Had a Thomson that was silent but it would always rotate around the steerer. The giant branded one I had as a spare never made a sound.

Deity Copperhead stems are superb, Spank Split are very nice too. My Renthal Apex stem creaked also...

There's some good deals on spank stuff at CRC. Might go that way for budget initially. Then I've got a baseline if I want to upgrade (side-grade?) later.
On the subject of cranks - I'll probably get some Shimano SLX. But... Am I missing something with my current (budget) Race Face Aeffect cranks I've been running? They've been solid as for 5 years. No preload ring, but use thin spacers. Heaps of 'cinch' chainring options.
Never had any issues with them. Just wondering if I'm missing out on cranking nirvana by considering the budget end of the crank-world.
