4x hardtail

Hi i want to start racing 4x but realise it is a short season. I want a suitable 4x bike that will still be good for riding dirt jumps and light downhill. I am looking for a bike that is easy to throw around and is light. So far the 2008 p2 seems pretty good but a bit out of my budget ($1000). Any suggestons?

You could look at a Giant STP pretty good value for money. Also try the for sale section always good buys on there.
