A question about grease

Ok, so I put this here instead of parts and stuff as this is specifically about grease in relation to road hubs.

What grease do people know of to best service roadie hubs and free hub bodies. I prefer my trustee waterproof bearing grease for bb and head stems. But it is far too thick and viscous for cup'n'cone bearing hubs and also feehub bodies. I have tried it and the wheels free spin noticeably slower.

The drag is very obvious.

Thanks.

^^^ this.

I have used automotive high temp grease, waterproof bearing grease (note your metal bits will still rust with this if water gets in), Motorex 2000 grease, Shimano (one that looked like the Motorex and also dura ace), some special concoction from Canada that has finely divided copper particles in it, and heavy oils on cone and cup bearings and freehubs over 30 years or so.

The best I've found in the Shimano Dura Ace stuff and Slickoleum.

Excellent.

Cheers Guys.

I used TF2 Teflon Grease and it turned black within weeks from the red colour.

This, to me, told me that the bearing surface was wearing and contaminating the grease... NOT GOOD.

I will track this down and spend teh $$$$ getting it
