No more illegal than unlicensed electrical work I'd imagine. I haven't done a lot of data, have no idea what half the words you guys use mean but the cabling is easy.

yes, wiring rules dictate all structured cabling must be performed by licensed cablers. a structured cable is tied to something, goes through a wall, or is in a duct.

enforcement is ZERO in the commercial space let alone in residential. go nuts

Just don't run it in the same wall cavity as any of your 240V stuff and at least you'll live to make your contribution to the f-wit thread.

Thread hijack. I did the numbers and figured a nbn 50 or faster plan would be pointless given my location. However I didn't realise I had HFC in my area. Saved a few hundred on an averted modem upgrade and get faster internet. So here's the thing should I upgrade to a nbn50 plan for $10 more per month of is HFC still pointless given I am about 4km from the exchange?

*Edit, currently my speed tests indicate I am hitting the speed cap consistently.
