Hi All,

So i'm part way through my new project now and thought I'd post some initial pics.

The frame is a 2010 Santa Cruz Heckler.

Paint is a Dulux colour called "Deep Ocean".

Prepped and painted by myself in my bathroom hehe showers make great spray booths!

Swingarm is all welded up and has it's first colour coat. Will post an updated pic tonight.

I am making enquiries in the states for a new one as they are over $600 here!

Nice one. Have you ridden it yet?

Good work with the paint job...Mine could do with a shower booth re-spray too.

Maiden voyage this morning. the bb is very low on this so will probably swap out the 175mm for 170mm. but aside from that it feels nice.

Wasn't asking to be banned
too short = BB lowness

Looks like you have the wrong size shock in it - should be 216mm E2E
Slackens the HA nicely, though

ah ok, that could be part of it. i read quite a few peeps running the 4 way swinger though.
All rear shocks come in different eye to eye and stroke lengths. You need to ensure that you use the correct length and stroke for a frame:
Eye to eye too short a shock and your angles will be messed up, too long and you could break the frame due to it impacting itself.
Stroke too short and you won't get the travel the frame is designed for. Too long and you'll break your frame.
You should also bear in mind with different frames come different leverage ratios and therefore different compression/rebound tunes to suit that leverage ratio, the heckler is a single pivot with high leverage and therefore normally requires a stiff compression tune.

Go the DHX5 coil in 7.875 x 2.25. That's what I have on my Heckler and I reckon it's perfect. It's one of the most popular coil shocks used on Hecklers in the USA too.

Should have bought the shock with the frame!!

If you're getting an RP23 just make sure it's the right tune for the Heckler, especially if you're buying it new and can choose the tune. RP23 on Heckler is rebound tune 1 compression tune 3. I don't know what the boost valve tune is supposed to be if you're getting a BV RP23 though.

Decals part 1

WP_20130130_001.jpgWP_20130130_002.jpgWP_20130130_004.jpg

Part 1 of decals, I like the stealthiness of the black but i;m toying with the idea of laying blue blue over the top off centered so they look like light blue decals with a black shadow.
