ok,
once more the realm of computers is causing havok with me.
Ive got a laptop with an tv out, which all works normally.
windows xp boots on the tv screen, and runs fine - but it wont let me play videos.
Whenever i go to play a video, where the video should be, it doesnt display - i.e. a black rectangle the size of te video.
So, the question is, how can i get it to work?
Is there some software which can get around this problem?
i need some farkin help!

so much for a relaxing sunday.

I heard something about some PS2's not being able to play dvd's (or play them in B&W) when they are hooked up through a vcr so that you can't record them to a tape. Maybe theres a similar copyright protection mechanism acting here. Try using a different program to play the dvd (ie- not windows media player) or maybe you need a workaround program to avoid the protection

my cousin had the same problem. i believe it is a setting on your vid card setup thing. play with that until the vid works (the screen resolution)

I'm not sure exactly where but you want to be looking around in either the media player preferences or your video card settings for something related to the 'overlay mode' or somesuch.
