So I got one of those fancy gimbals folk are raving about and thought I'd go and do some less-than-a-shaddow-of-Claudio trail previews up on Hassans to test it out on some rough terrain.
I use to ride up there every day, now I don't get up there so much but I had so much fun on the "primitive" trails I got all philosophical and wrote some rambling words to go with the vids
check them out here https://sleepwhenwearedead.wordpres...rm-aka-the-primative-joys-of-an-unkept-trail/

or just check out this sample. Whatever

That looks so smooth it's ridiculous! Huge departure from the usual shaky, rattling chest mount videos you see out there.

Ideate has one as well I think he shot some grouse videos recently.

Face and arms whippers to the extent you have them there would see me berserk out.

I hate shit whacking me in the face as I'm trying to pin something.

Need to get back up your way for some rides this year, I reckon. Still day dream about the old mine track, especially the tight section from the lead in to the rock drop down to the little bridge over the creek. One of my fav sections ever. Need to check your newer trails out so I have some new daydreams!

Like Pavolvs dog and his bell I've come to associate stinging arms with an awesome ride.... That said Ewok normally gets a trim every 6 month or so, just hasn't been done for a while

Damn that's some smooth footage! What camera and setting did you use?
gopro on a Feiyu Tech WG gimbal on the chest mount. took a little playing with to get right. Having the unit hang down off the chest had it too low and prone to coping a knee. How ever pointing it up was fine until you hit a bump and it would flop down as it was too heavy for the friction inthe gopro chest mount so what I did was set a second strap on the center mount to keep it in place. Other than that the gimbal does an amazing job. Got over an hour of it at Rydal which has more twists and turns than a dan brown novel

To compare the difference the gimbal makes a fair few of those trails feature here with just the traditional gopro straight on the chest strap.

Might be a scene or two that warms Johnny's heart strings too
