Any Xbox 360 people HELP!!!!

So I've got a 360 Slim 4gb console and the disc laser keeps jamming at the back of the console.

Apparently this was a thing with a batch of them for some BS reason, but what happens is that no discs can be read, it just displays an Open Tray message

I've done a fair bit of research on it and what the majority do is go buy a new console but I'm a little short on the muneyz at the moment so I'm wondering if anyone has a quick fix?????

Its getting real bad having to reach in with a piece of wire to pull the laser forward.... any permanent solutions?

I Googled this, and it seems like people are putting a 1mm washer at the back to stop the laser from moving back too far, resulting it it getting stuck.

I have fixed the laser issue with a 1mm washer when it gets stuck in the back. Just super glue it to the back bracket where the laser slides to. Works every time!
