Anyone ride a Reid?

I am just about to pull the trigger and buy a Polygon Siskiu T8 (currently $2800 plus a small fee for delivery to the country).

But just wondering before I do, has anyone had any experience with Reid bikes? Specifically their VICE FS 3.0. Alot cheaper (yes, less spec'd and slightly heavier), but free delivery at the moment and $2200, and they throw in about $80 worth of goodies (helmet, lights and pump).

Sorry if this all reads like an advert. I'm all keen for the Polygon, but this bike is potentially $600 cheaper and for my not so extreme riding, I'm thinking I should just go for it.

Depends on the size you're going for as well.

Don't forget the at Polygon only comes in 29 for the large and extra large.

@wkkie thanks, I did note that too. But coming from an old 26", I can't say that I'm too fussed either way. 27.5 is probably an easier step up than a 29er but I'd be happy to ride either honestly.

The Reid is 2.8 and Polygon 2.6... can't say I've ridden a 2.8 in the last 10 years, not not sure how big the difference would be....

Few reviews from people I would trust if you haven’t checked them out.

AMB review of the vice. https://www.ambmag.com.au/gallery/tested-reid-vice-30-fs-482139

Flow review of the T8. https://flowmountainbike.com/tests/tested-polygon-siskiu-t8/

While having not ridden either I can say a know a few people running polygons who have been very happy. Also shared a lift in thredbo with a bloke riding the T8 who loved it.

For me 29er, 35mm fork legs, more proven brand are the winner. The only riding mate on a 27+ bike I know has converted to 29 and much prefers it.

For you, only you can know. While test riding these might no be possible it might be worth riding similar bikes if possible. See if you can get on a 27+ and 29er of similar travel and geometry.

For the $ they both look good. I did check out the T8 but ended up on a Banshee Prime which has been awesome - plus they are distributed by MBD who I think are tops.
