Going to Japan in January for about 10 days skiing on the south island. Looking at going to Myoko ski area and maybe one other as it seems a little off the beaten track with good off-piste.

Has anyone been there?? Looking for some good tips...

Done many many days in that area...Myoko only has 3.4 real ski fields and limited apres. But what is there is awesome! Also consider a short visit to nozawa onsen, but the 1 hill gets tired after about 4 days. You can bus from nozawa to madaroa for a little extra. Hakuba offers lots of hills and more tourists than the others. But is far from crowded. If you want any specifics shoot me a pm.

I did myoko about 8 years ago. Lots and lots of powder that year, but as pink poodle said not a huge amount of variety.

On weekdays it felt like we had the place to ourselves though.
